I have helped hundreds of couples of the past 9+ years plan their weddings. Helped with with details big and small and mostly, to find the vendors that best suited their wedding, both style & budget. I wanna share a little of my journey along the way and hopefully you’ll find some helpful pieces to assist you!

Ryan proposed to me at the end of January of this year, when it happened I was totally caught off guard. I knew he was close to popping the question, it’s just on that day I didn’t expect it at all. But of course, being a co-owner of The Wedding Cafe & typical girl, by the time we got down the hill from Big White, we had some of our vendors already chosen.

We were lucky, we didn’t need to research vendors or ask them for price lists as I knew most of these answers already. As we started contacting the vendors that suited the style of wedding day we were envisioning the whole picture got a little more real. Budget was a big one. I’ve always been pretty good at figuring out alternatives for things that seem to high is price for me and shopping around for other options, but when it comes to your wedding vendors, this is a place that you have to take a step back and realize this is something you want perfect, so why cut corners? We layed out options, little details got deleted and big ones got scaled down… then a few days later we’d change our minds again! We got engaged Jan 21, 2018… and our wedding date was August 23, 2018. We had 7 months to plan the best day ever.
I’ll got into more detail on blog posts over the next few weeks, but I wanted to quickly get out some words and let anyone out there currently planning that you will have highs and lows. You will encounter road blocks and some things will fall into your lap. But if you keep true to what you want, what you envision and try to stay focused on the overall budget, you can have your perfect day. It’s just like marriage (ha- I’ve been married less than 2 weeks- who am I to give advice on marriage?! but we’ve all heard this before)- you will have good days and bad, but if you work together you’ll stay together.

Advice number 1- go get a binder or book to keep you organized. I got one at the dollar store with insert pages so I could add all out quotes and contracts to keep track. But there are some awesome ones on amazon or etsy that can more fun than my plain blue 1″ binder! I was being cheap and wanted to spend little on the book and more on the day
