Sandhill Winery

Each bottle of Sandhill single vineyard wine is made from grapes that come exclusively from one distinct vineyard. Each of our six vineyards, Sandhill Estate, King Family, Phantom Creek, Osprey Ridge, Hidden Terrace and Vanessa Vineyard, posses a unique combination of soil composition, slope, sun exposure and drainage. As well, each vineyard manager employs techniques that bring subtle influences into the
growing environment. These one-of-a-kind conditions inevitably produce grapes with unique characteristics. This, in turn, provides us with the opportunity to create wines that are truly distinct. In the winery, we believe our noninterventionist approach allows the character of the fruit to shine through in the wine.
The winery’s design is inspired by the industrial heritage of its downtown Kelowna neighbourhood. The 8,000 square foot space is modern and light-filled, with soaring ceilings and reclaimed, 80-year-old wood beams. The Tasting Room is anchored by a large glacier sculpture that pays homage to the Okanagan Valley’s natural geological features and glacial history, which give the region its ideal grape growing conditions. A glass wall divides the Tasting Room from the Small Lots Barrel Cellar, which houses Howard Soonʼs Small Lots program. Small Lots are small quantities of wine from specific
identified blocks within a vineyard that consistently deliver wines of great character and depth.
